1. Meaning and acceptance<\/h2>\n

\u201cScrap Nearby\u201d, \u201cwe\u201d, \u201cus\u201d or \u201cour\u201d means the operator of the Scrap Nearby service. \u201cCustomer\u201d, \u201cyou\u201d or \u201cyour\u201d means a visitor or person submitting a request. By using the website or submitting a pickup request, you acknowledge these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the booking service.<\/p>\n

2. Service scope and booking status<\/h2>\n

Scrap Nearby facilitates requests for doorstep scrap pickup in Mumbai and nearby areas, subject to availability. A submitted form is an enquiry\/request only, not a confirmed appointment, guaranteed pickup, binding price offer or acceptance of material. Our team may call or message you to confirm details, availability, accepted material and pickup timing. Do not assume a booking is confirmed until our team confirms it.<\/p>\n

3. Prices, inspection, weighing and payment<\/h2>\n

Any website price list is indicative, may be updated and is not a guaranteed live market quote. Final rates depend on material type, grade, condition, cleanliness, quantity, market conditions and pickup logistics. The material and weight are checked at collection; the final rate and amount should be agreed before the transaction is completed. If material differs from the description or safe collection is not possible, we may revise the quotation or decline collection. Payment method and timing are agreed at pickup. We will not ask for your UPI PIN, banking password, card PIN or payment OTP to pay you.<\/p>\n

4. Customer responsibilities and ownership<\/h2>\n

You must provide accurate name, phone number, address, locality, material type, estimated quantity and requested date. You confirm that you own the material or are authorised by its owner to sell or hand it over. Obtain any required permission from a property owner, employer, housing society or other authorised party. Do not offer stolen, unlawfully obtained, restricted or hazardous material. Tell us about heavy items, access limitations, dismantling needs and relevant safety risks.<\/p>\n

5. Prohibited and regulated materials<\/h2>\n

We may refuse any item that is unlawful, unsafe, stolen, contaminated, hazardous or outside our operational capacity. Batteries, e-waste, electrical items, chemicals, gas cylinders, medical waste and other regulated materials may require specialist handling or may not be accepted. Do not leave items for collection without our confirmation. Applicable waste-management, environmental, transport and other laws must be followed.<\/p>\n

6. Cancellation, delay and failed contact<\/h2>\n

Customers should call or message promptly to cancel or reschedule. If we cannot reach you to verify a request, we may hold, reschedule or decline it. Pickup timing can be affected by traffic, weather, route planning, staff availability, access conditions or other events outside reasonable control. We will make reasonable efforts to communicate material changes. No automatic cancellation fee applies unless it has been clearly disclosed and lawfully agreed beforehand.<\/p>\n

7. Safe conduct and property access<\/h2>\n

Both parties should behave respectfully and avoid threats, harassment, discrimination, unsafe lifting or dangerous handling. Customers should keep children, pets and bystanders away from the collection area and provide safe access. Our representatives must not enter private areas without permission. Do not request unlawful entry, unsafe dismantling or handling contrary to applicable safety rules. Either party may stop work if an immediate safety concern arises.<\/p>\n

8. Website availability and third-party services<\/h2>\n

We aim to keep the website working but do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free access. Hosting, Google services, maps, WhatsApp, social networks, payment providers and other external platforms may have separate terms, outages or privacy practices. We do not control independent third-party systems. Their services are used subject to their own terms and applicable law.<\/p>\n

9. Intellectual property and misuse<\/h2>\n

Scrap Nearby branding, original text, design and site content are protected to the extent allowed by law. You may not impersonate us, copy protected materials for commercial misuse, scrape customer data, submit spam or fake bookings, interfere with the website, or attempt unauthorised access. We may block abusive activity and take lawful action where appropriate.<\/p>\n

10. Privacy<\/h2>\n

Booking data is handled as described in our Privacy Policy<\/a>. Submit only information needed to arrange pickup. Current-location sharing is optional and should occur only when you choose to share it. Do not submit passwords, payment PINs, OTPs or unrelated sensitive information.<\/p>\n

11. Complaints and dispute resolution<\/h2>\n

Please provide the date, booking details and a clear description; avoid sending unnecessary personal or financial data. We aim to acknowledge and review complaints reasonably and seek an amicable resolution. Nothing in these terms removes your right to approach a competent consumer forum, regulator, law-enforcement authority or court where permitted by law. Any dispute is subject to applicable Indian law and the jurisdiction of competent courts\/authorities as determined by law.<\/p>\n

12. Liability and legal rights<\/h2>\n

To the extent permitted by law, we are not responsible for losses caused by inaccurate information supplied by a customer, independent third-party outages, unlawful acts by others or events beyond reasonable control. Nothing here excludes liability that cannot legally be excluded, statutory consumer rights, or remedies available under applicable law.
