1. Public and workplace safety<\/h2>\n

Collections should be conducted in a respectful and reasonably safe manner. Do not ask staff to trespass, enter a locked\/private area without permission, handle dangerous material without suitable arrangements, or perform unsafe lifting or dismantling. Stop the activity if there is an immediate risk of injury, fire, electrical shock, chemical exposure or property damage. Contact emergency services when there is an immediate threat to life or safety.<\/p>\n

2. Lawful material and ownership<\/h2>\n

Customers must have lawful authority to sell or hand over materials. Scrap Nearby may decline suspicious, stolen, restricted or hazardous material. We may request reasonable clarification of ownership or authorisation. We will not knowingly facilitate unlawful disposal or handling of regulated waste.<\/p>\n

3. Fair weighing and transaction transparency<\/h2>\n

Customers should be allowed to ask about the weight, applicable rate and calculation of the amount. The rate and material acceptance should be agreed before the transaction is completed. Raise a discrepancy promptly and, where possible, retain relevant transaction details or receipts. Never share payment PINs or OTPs with a collector.<\/p>\n

    Do not use threats, publish another person\u2019s private information or make knowingly false claims. This does not prevent a genuine review, complaint or lawful report.<\/p>\n

    5. Disputes and escalation<\/h2>\n

    We encourage respectful, good-faith discussion first. If the matter remains unresolved, either party may use any competent consumer forum, regulator, police authority or court available under applicable law. Nothing in this page restricts statutory rights, lawful reporting or access to legal remedies. Jurisdiction is determined by applicable law; this website does not claim to override a competent authority.<\/p>\n
